There is a special kind of wonder

In the eyes of a child, with a book

Eager to find out what happens

Ever anxious to take that first look

A place he goes for adventure

Each page, another journey, grand

With his imagination, set free, alive

In a world, only he understands

She walks like a feather

Afloat through the trees

Mesmerized by the light

She approaches with ease

Unaware of what’s hidden

Still she cannot resist

With soft, silent footsteps

She is lost to the mist

Hears it beckon to her

Child, be not afraid

And she glides ever closer

Through the dark forest glade

Make a wish upon a star
See the moon glow bright
Little one who watches
Out the window of the night

Whisk your dreams away
On the gentle evening breeze
Skyward clouds paint the skies
And mingle with the trees

Quietly she sits in thought
Dear sweet child of ebony light
Watches out the window
Enchanted by heavenly delight

All About the Books ~ #poetry

They sat me down in this room
Said all I could do was look
Silly people, don’t they know
I’m all about the books

I found one filled with pictures
I’m still learning how to read
I picked one with a dinosaur
I really like this one, indeed!

It has very colorful, bright pages
And with the sunlight as my lamp
I can sit here, for hours and hours
It’s so much better than any camp

There are just so many books
I wonder, which one will be my next
Maybe I’ll try to read it out loud
Better choose one, complete with text

Mermaid baby, little one, drift upon this silent sea

Find your place, among the waves, let the waters set you free

Let the sunlight guide you, though storm clouds threaten here

Bask in everlasting hope, knowing happiness is near

Sleep, for now, sweet baby, on a leaf, until the day

You hear the ocean call to you, tis love, it does convey
