Sitting cross-legged, and with a carefree spirit, she summoned him over. Then had second thoughts. What if he was some mad man? It was too late now. He was making his way toward her, and she wasn’t in a position to get up quickly and run. Mustering all the courage she had, she waited for him to arrive.

“Where you motioning to me?” he asked.

“Um, no, I mean, yes, I mean, I don’t know what I was thinking.”

“I see. Well, I’ll be on my way then.”

“No, wait a sec. Maybe, this was meant to be.”

Maybe not….

Dare to take a chance
Never mind the mundane
Life is gray matter
It could use a bit of color

Sweep away the boring
Forget about the plain
The day to day truly
Couldn’t be much duller

Choose the door
To opportunity, open wide
Sidle away from strife
Spice it up, it’s waiting

You’ll never know til you do
Just take a step inside
Hurry now, no time to waste
I promise, it’s captivating

A crooked wooden path climbs high

Over mountains, reaching sky

Disappearing into the night

Shall I travel toward the light?

Do I chance what lies ahead?

Or do I stay behind, instead

Afraid of what could be the end

Not knowing what’s around the bend

Shall I take a chance or two?

Yes!  That’s exactly what I’ll do

Striding, over faded boards

Creaking as I step, go forward

Running, to catch the rising sun

Knowing my journey has just begun

Mesmerized by full moon light

Once flaxen haired, now turned to white

An empty boat in harbor waits

Is this her ill begotten fate?

Mist below her, hidden river

Limbs of flesh, begin to shiver

Standing, waiting, upon the pier

Still the boat does not draw near

Could this all be just happenstance?

Should she await another chance?

With a treasure map held in her hand

She seeks to find the Promised Land
