Just before she sleeps
She softly colors the world
And awakens souls

Page after page, and all through the night
Amongst the clouds and stars, he read
A beacon, his lantern would always stay lit
By the moon, as the words filled his head
Yet the moon never quarreled, about the time
After all, he thought, the child is learning
So patiently, he awaited the morning sun
Till then, he kept the nightlight burning

Red, her lips, colored,
Tasted the sweet nectar of life
In the crimson night
