There’s a melody I hear when I turn out my light

It’s a haunting sound that lingers in the night

It plays for a minute, an hour, or more

This is not a tune I have heard before

But if I open my eyes to find the song

It softens, stops, and then it’s gone

Left only to imagine, this tune in my head

As I lie here, humming, awake in my bed

Instead you searched the soul within

And found me more than flesh and bone

A human being, a woman sown

From pieces that were once misplaced

Until I looked upon your face

And with your heart, you took my soul

Two as one, together, whole

It takes only a moment, to be kind

When human hearts, seek to find

The warmth of a smile, a cheerful face

Love and happiness, without a trace

Of hopelessness or mere despair

We, as one, must show we care

By lending hands to those who need

And stopping those who intercede

As brothers and sisters, together we stand

And Peace must reign o’er the lands
