She kept her face hidden, sheltered from sight

This spirit who wandered, throughout the night

No one could see her, though shimmering white

She must be an angel, the keeper of light

****

Yet, she knew the reason, she was left here alone

Her soul was not finished, her deeds, to bemoan

This being who stayed, while the others flew home

Is the keeper of darkness, bound to Earth, an unknown

Glittered in gold, she has rule of the sea

The queen of the ocean, gilded and free

The glow of her beauty, the aura she burns

Reflect, with her brilliance, wherever she turns

Water that ripples with the touch of her hand

Illuminates the heavens, this she understands

That the waters below, are simply her domain

To do as she pleases, where she’ll forever reign

But the skies up above, these she cannot defame

For God rules the night, to which she cannot hold claim

Things are much better

When splashing in the ocean

With your best buddies

The Colors of Night ~ #poetry

The stardust fell, in a quiet array

Nightfall enveloped the colors of day

Moon dust soon followed, the glow of the light

Made ethereal shadows, ever so bright

She appeared with eyes closed, unable to see

The beauty she showered, her diversity

And though she was different, she never asked why

She blended so beautifully, with the moon and sky

For she was the star, she was Heaven’s delight

Whose beauty would shine, through the colors of night
