Can’t figure out how to read this
Perhaps it is hieroglyphics

A bunch of designs, fill the page
There’s nothing more specific

Should I sit here, on my behind
Wondering how the cavemen did it

Or make my way into the city
For the local museum’s exhibit?

Yes, I shall go down to the place
Where the writing’s on the wall

Stop, and ask the curator there
What it’s all about, this scrawl

But instead of helping me out
He shows me to a room, quite small

It’s where, he says, they secretly hide
The writer, named Nean Derthal

Sweet peas will blossom

Shy at first, then much bolder

With colorful blooms

I’m excited to announce, the second book in my Haiku series, Seasons ~ Winter Haiku, is now available on Amazon (in paperback only)!  I hope you’ll enjoy reading it!  The cover art is a photo I took this past winter (I’m hoping it has passed at this point!).  I’d be ever so grateful if you should decide to share/reblog.  I thank you kindly, in advance!   ❤

This book contains 50 haiku and is described as:

Winter ~ Colors fade away, changing from gray, into covered mounds of pure white snow. From December til March we brace for the lasting chill in the air, impatiently awaiting the first signs of warmth. The haiku in this book take you from the last days of autumn, through the blustery days of winter and into the hopeful days of spring ahead.

Covered in Constellations ~ #NaPoWriMo #AprilWriting

Nighttime lets me flourish
I stand alone, under the moon

Looking up, in wonder
I know I’ll find them soon

Brilliant, in the blackened sky
Fainter, at crack of morn

Lights of a million fantasies
In the evening sky, are born

I am covered in constellations
Bathing, in shining stars

Watching, as they sparkle
Like the sun, on a reservoir

Lights aglow above me
Tis Heaven’s chandelier

These are the ones, I know, in my heart
Will always, chase away my drear

52AE575B-2972-4876-87E3-7AC9D002A077.jpegYep, that’s my leg. After an ultrasound to make sure I didn’t have a blood clot, they wrapped me in a knee immobilizer, called in a prescription for an anti-inflammatory , told me to follow up with my ortho and sent me on my way.

A little back story.  I’ve already had two surgeries on this knee.  There is basically no cartilage left between the bones.  On a high note, I can predict when it will snow and rain.

I will be MIA for a bit.  I’ll try to get to comments when I can.

Have a great week ahead!
