The lovely Helene of Willow Poetry has challenged us with “What do you See?”.  You may write a poem, haiku, tanka or short story that represents what you see or feel within you.  More info can be found in the link below.

A sea of scarlet

The blood of brothers in arms

Gather one last time

Scattered among the poppies

To bid their final farewell

Authors Note: Though in the United States, November 11 is called Veteran’s Day, the Commonwealth of Nations consider it Remembrance Day.  The USA honors those we lost, in May, on Memorial Day.  I wrote this in remembrance of all the fallen soldiers everywhere.

The Dream of All Dreams – #NovemberWriting #poetry

In the midnight sky,
On a bridge that goes nowhere
A light cast its singular glow
And I followed its radiant glare
There, at the end of the platform
A tunnel did appear
In a heart shaped pattern
Against the darkness, ever clear
No matter how hard I tried
I couldn’t see beyond
I called out, into the blue abyss
But no one did respond
As I got closer to the end
Of the narrow wooden planks
I realized what was calling me
Was simply just a prank
Into the ebony sky, I fell
Nobody heard my screams
I am forever lost, inside
This horrid dream of dreams

A package of letters, I found in a chest

Written to Grandmother, from Kenny

Made me quite confused, I confess

I thought Grandfather’s name was Lenny!

This week, Colleen has given us free reign! It’s Poet’s Choice! We can choose any words we want.   Remember, you can only use synonyms to write your poetry!  I used Adhere and Pieces.   🙂

Shiver…

With the cold air

Raindrops cling to the trees

In small fragments of winter’s tears

And freeze
