The Christmas holiday is done, the caroling and cheer
Santa’s sleigh, has gone away, along with his reindeer
And soon December follows, making way for resolutions
That no one really keeps, it’s against their constitution

An eruption of presents
In red, and blue, and green
Holds nary an empty space
Amid this holiday scene
Packages piled high, waiting
Under the Christmas tree
The warmth of this season
Is blending perfectly
With silver bows and ribbons
And boxes on the floor
But, when we are together
The meaning’s so much more
