Tuesday night’s full moon, the Paschal Moon, named for the approach of Passover & Easter. Also known as the Pink Moon.

The Paschal full moon

A sign of Easter’s approach

Lights the path of hope

Its beauty brings renewal

To the soul of every man

Author’s Note: “Easter is observed on the Sunday following the Paschal Full Moon, which is the first full Moon that occurs on or after the March equinox.” For more info visit: Farmer’s Almanac

Colleen’s poetry challenge for this week is synonyms only!  Her two words are Spell and Treat.  Check out Colleen’s blog to find which forms of poetry are acceptable for this challenge.  Have fun!

Written as a Tanka, my synonyms are Conjure & Hocus-pocus and Debate.

Hocus-pocus, watch!

I shall conjure the fairies

For your enjoyment

You cannot debate magic

When captivated, my dear

*A Tanka can be read both forwards and backwards…  😉

The storm fits my mood

As thunder rumbles above

Dark clouds wander by

Much like me, this dreary day

Looks are deceiving

Dear John, I began

It is time to call it quits

There is nothing left

We never talk anymore

I cannot go on like this

Colleen’s fabulous poetry challenge for this week are Poet’s Choice!  That’s right, it’s the first challenge of the month, and we get to pick!  Check out Colleen’s blog to find which forms of poetry are acceptable for this challenge.  Have fun!

My poem is written as a Tanka.

When eyes tightly close

Tis the time for fantasy

Invading my dreams

Like a caramel sundae

Sugary sweetness oozing
