Whispers in the night
The rhythmic breathing of
Two hearts beating
A silence broken
With promises spoken

Whispers in the morn
The quiet slumber of
Two souls intertwining
Bodies both aching
True love awakening

Hidden Behind the Gray

darkness, forests, gray skies, Hidden Behind the Gray, mystery, Night Owl Poetry, poems, poetry, spirits

The light stayed away
Hidden behind the grayest of gray
With darkness clouding the sky
All I can do is wonder why
This fear I cannot allay

Sleepily walking to nowhere
Wondering what I will find there
My mind in a daze
Lost in a maze
Glancing at shadows that tear

As they dance in dark, mysterious ways
Losing the hours, day after day
How do they find me
Slinking behind me
With their eerily haunting display

They gather around as they play
I’m filled with uncertain dismay
Staking their claim
They whisper my name
Dragging me back, into the gray

He left me a rose

Lying upon the railing

Of the balcony where we once stood

The symbol of everlasting love

The flower of passion…and pain

Friday Fantasy ~ Sing Sweet Melody

broken heart, fantasy, Friday Fantasy, melody, music, Night Owl Poetry, poems, poetry, Sing Sweet Melody

Sing sweet melody
Lyrical strings
Songs of the heart
Music that brings
Memories forlorn
Held close long ago
Played to my soul
Achingly slow
Notes of forgotten
Times in my life
Burning desire
Troubling strife
Floating about
Lost in the air
Sing sweet melody
Of days no longer there

Rumbling thunder

Frightening, Brooding

Agonizing noise

Invasive, Intruding

Unwanted thoughts

Harrowing, Daunting

Suffocating din

Nagging, Haunting

Lingering commotion

Shouting, Roaring,

Insanity storming

A Lost Soul’s imploring
