Thanks to Phil Taylor of The Phil Factor for tagging me!  This sounds like fun   🙂

The rules are simple. Answer the questions, tag the person that tagged you (www.dorindaduclos.com) and tag some friends to answer! Simple, huh?

I tend to be nostalgic and prefer to listen to older songs.  Today’s music doesn’t necessarily appeal to me, except for some that actually sound like music.

And here are my choices:

A song that reminds me of home: You’re My Home – Billy Joel

Five songs that are must-haves for a road trip:

  • The  Stroke – Billy Squier
  • Renegade ~ Styx
  • Listen to the Music – Doobie Brothers
  • Uptown Funk – Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars
  • Get the Party Started – Pink

A song that inspires me: The Sound of Silence – Simon and Garfunkel

A song that puts me in a good mood: Sing – Ed Sheeran

A song I know all the words to: Every Billy Joel song  🙂

A song that annoys me: Anything, and I mean anything, by Taylor Swift!!

A song I used to like but don’t anymore: 99 Red Balloons – Nena

A song I thrashed: No idea

A song I like to play loud: Demons – Imagine Dragons

A song that makes me want to dance: For Your Entertainment ~ Adam Lambert

I tag the following people (you’re under no obligation), but if you’re so inclined, please do play along.  I’d love to hear what inspires you.

Michelle Cook (Her Writing Haven)

Erika Kind

Chuck (the reluctant poet)

Walt Page (Walt’s Writings)

Morgan (BookNVolume)

No matter the angle in which we view

Seems it’s always changing before us

They claim what you see is normalcy

No reason to cause such a fuss

Multicolored phrases

Catch on the tips of tongues

How can we believe the words?

When the truths become undone

Seems simple to tell the story

When the lies come too quickly to mind

Not so, when you try to remember them

Who you are is now clearly defined

How easy it is to burst that bubble

When it’s made only of water and soap

Much easier to tell the truth, my friend

Much harder to shorten the rope

Sunlight stains the window
I pour myself some tea
Tears flow from my swollen eyes
What has become of me?

I find myself inside this place
No reason to go outside
Afraid someone will see my pain
And I’ll have to run and hide

Away from the morning monsters
And the afternoon creatures I fear
Nighttime comes calling too quickly
And I find myself rather drear

Behind the glass panes, I surrender
To the despair I keep hidden so well
Although I have tried to escape me
I’m still locked in this living hell

We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it
That’s what they’d say to me
But now I’m here and it’s not quite clear
Where I’m supposed to be

Is this the stairway to Heaven?
How do I know if I’m on the right path?
I’m stuck in the middle, this must be a riddle
Do the answers lie in the aftermath?

Earth floats freely behind me
What lies ahead, I can’t see
Perhaps I’ll just wait, but what of my fate?
Seems I’m stranded in reality
