Good morning, friends! It’s Memorial Day weekend, here in the states. On Monday, we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice defending our freedom. God bless them. ❤ Grab your tea, iced or hot, make yourselves comfy and let’s talk! 🙂
If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: if you haven’t seen me liking or commenting on your posts, please tell me. I am still trying to find everyone that WordPress unfollowed. It’s very frustrating because some of you I have been following since I began almost six years ago. Please drop me a comment so I know and I can follow again.
If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: hubby and I had a wonderful overnight with Stella the Chihuahua. She is such a good girl. Except when she woke me up at 2:45AM to let me know she peed on her wee wee pad. I’m sure she was hoping for a treat! Then she wanted to play. I finally calmed her down and she went back to sleep until about 7:30AM. I miss having a dog of our own, but right now it’s not an option. So, I will take Stella, or any other dog Lys wants to bring by, any day, so I can play!!
If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: I got my first rejection letter from a magazine, on a poem I sent them. It’s okay though, because I decided to share with you to see what your reaction would be. It was wonderful, and in the long run, that’s what really matters to me. If I can’t capture your attention, then why am I writing? ❤
If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: it was a rainy week (again), but this time we had some very strong storms. Extreme wind, thunder and lightning (my favorite part), and heavy rains. Thankfully, it seems to be behind us now and we have nice weather coming in. It’s supposed to be in the 90’s today! Talk about one extreme to the other. Mother Nature is really off this year.
If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: Thursday was my son’s birthday. It’s hard to believe 32 years have passed. I still remember when we brought him home. He’s grown into a fine man and I couldn’t be prouder. He has worked his way up the corporate ladder, for a major retail company, and is now a manager. He’s been with the company for 15 years! Wow.
If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: my rhododendron is in full bloom and I am just loving it! Last week I showed you the rhodo from the church gardens. Mine are very different. They are a light purple, which are the common ones you see around my neighborhood. I don’t care what color they are, I just love the plant!!
If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: actually, ask you, what does it take to get people to review your books? I have sold many copies of my new book, and of course, since it’s through Amazon, I have no idea who purchased it. But no reviews. 😦 All I keep thinking is, Oh my God, they hate it. I’d love to hear from your authors who have tons of reviews. Perhaps a little coaching from you would help me.
If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: we had a nice day yesterday, at a BBQ at our friends from church. We joked it was “The Bates Motel” because that’s their last name. Lots of laughs, lots of stories, just good people and good food. At the end, Maricel, the hostess, called all the girl’s over and asked us to pick pink or blue. I thought it was turning into a baby shower! But, no…it turned into…
The bunnies play “Jesus Love Me, This I Know”. Love it!
As for the week ahead:
If we were sipping tea, basking in the sun and talking I would tell you: it’s a busy week ahead, between doctor’s appointments, bible study, and who knows what else will hit me when I least expect it. I have the neurologist on Tuesday. Please throw some good vibes my way, so I get answers!!
If we were sipping tea, basking in the sun and talking I would tell you: it’s time to be on my way. Church is calling, then pizza! What’s your favorite? Have a blessed week ahead, my friends! ❤
I enjoyed that blog post…and for the record I am drinking tea as I do it. Living in the UK we are still a nation of tea drinkers🇬🇧😀 Happy Thursday

Now that I think of it, I don’t know if I’ve seen you over at my blog lately… maybe I’m one of those who got unfollowed? Or maybe you’ve just been busy. Life is that way sometimes. 😉 Oh, your rhododendron is stunning! Mine didn’t bloom this year for some strange reason, so thanks for sharing yours! Thanks for sharing the tea too! Have a wonderful week ahead! ❤

Yes, you were one of the unfollows. That’s been corrected! My rhododendron & my azaleas were incredible this year. Then we had a huge rain & wind storm and that was that. ☹️

*Gasps* I wonder how that happens?! I’m glad you’re back! Or I’m back. 😉

WordPress had a big update, and suddenly, poof!, everyone disappeared. There were quite a few people talking about it. That’s how I realized it had happened to me, too!

Thank you so much for keeping my tea warm, it has been a busy few days as I needed to finish my mid-term paper and turn it into my supervisor. I hear you when you were saying to begin to clean your house out after 34 years, we are in our home now for 20 yrs and I began to do the same thing, no we are not moving however it is still nice to do. Since I am still having my tea I would say Happy Memorial Day to you, my husband will head to work (since he is in sales) and I will be heading to the Nursing Home this morning. Visiting different people has been a blessings just to be able to sit and be still sometimes they will talk and other times I will hold a patients hand and not say a word. I think to myself how once these men and women was so full of life, and I ask our Lord to be with them through this time in there lives and allow me to be His life to their world. Since my tea is almost finish it will be a busy week, class for me tonight, my youngest daughter has her dance recital next Sunday it is an all day event, she is in two performances however I am looking forward to it. I will say good-bye for now my friend and thank you for the cup of tea,
Blessings ❤

My goodness, you’ve been busy! I’m sure you did wonderfully on your midterm paper. I’m praying your daughter had a successful recital. The people in the nursing home appreciate you so much. You may be their only lifeline. Try not to overdo this week. See you on Sunday. ❤️

Hi, Dorinda, sorry to hear you got your first rejection on your poem submission. I’ve been busy doing so many things so I haven’t done too many submission. I submitted one short (1,500 words) non-fiction story and got accepted and coached to do editing, but the party involved in the real story didn’t want me to publish the story.
Congratulations to your son’s birthday. He has worked there for 15 years and he is only 32 years old?
I had a rhododendron bush but it was in the side yard, didn’t get enough sun, didn’t do well so I took it off. I should plant another one.
I didn’t sell too many copies of my book lately because I didn’t do anything about promoting it. I got some book reviews from the RRBC book club. I don’t know how Indie publishers sell their books and get reviews.
Have a great Memorial weekend!

Thanks, Miriam, I’m okay with it. It got a great response here, and honestly, that makes me very happy.
Yes, my son started working there when he was 17. My husband got him the job, since he was working there, part time.
Jon’s been there ever since. Hubby has moved on lol
I love my Rhodo, and will sad to leave it behind, if I ever move from here. lol Moving a bit slowly where that’s concerned.
As an Indie author, I can tell, it’s not easy!!! I’d be happy with one review!! lol I hope you get more reviews, but it’s tough everywhere. Maybe others don’t view it as importantly as we do. I don’t know.
Enjoy the rest of the holiday weekend! ❤

Yes, eventually. We are downsizing. Hard to figure out where to put 34 years of memories from a house into a townhouse. It’s a ways off, but we are starting to clean out. 😦

Oh mine!!! I know a couple who moved into a retirement home right after retirement. The wife has physical problem off and on. They also believe to make friends there and serve people there when they’re still “younger.” That place is smaller than a hotel room!! 🙂

Yikes!! Too small for me!! We’re looking at townhouses. Alyssa will be with us. I just want a smaller place since I’m really not able to take care of the house anymore. ☹️

I can’t take care of the house either. I can’t do it since 2009 when I had cancer treatment. I have the house cleaned only when we have family gathering. 🙂
I don’t think my husband wants downsizing.

I understand. It’s tough. I don’t know how some people do it.

Glad to hear you are having a great weekend. I find that keeping up with all those who write is a task but I do make a point of reading each one and do try and comment where I can. There is such a variety of wonderful work out there still waiting to be discovered 🙂
