Once again, I noticed, as I went to reblog a post, the reblog button has disappeared. Anyone else’s missing? I really don’t get why WP keeps doing this. Perhaps they can answer…
Although I use WordPress extensively, I hate them! They are greedy for money and can’t stop manically updating things that don’t need updating – making it ever more complicated to post an article – while not dealing with the issues that they should deal with, like the disappearing reblog button.
Thanks for bringing this up!!! I know on some blogs they show a reblog of their own post and you have to go to the original blog. I use press this when some blogs don’t have a reblog button. Also, some blog have chosen not to have a reblog button.
xoxoxo
Yes, but in my case, it just disappeared. I didn’t do anything. Somehow WP got it back, I think. But you always have to go to the original blog to reblog.
I’ve noticed it but often there’s a Share button which gives the option to share on your own WP site, FB or Twitter…and other options. When I reblog I use the Share button if it doesn’t have the reblog option.
I only use Chrome as well. Now that I think about it I had to change to firefox one other time when having weird problems. They told me to change and it did work on Firefox. I don’t want to change. Word Press needs to update their platform for all browsers.
They also said something along the lines that if you have an ad blocker on your browser, you may not see the reblog button. That makes no sense at all.
Me, too. If it didn’t, you went back and worked until it did. Problem is, they have so many contributing to the themes, there’s no continuity. I really wish they had specific guidelines for coders. maybe they do, and they’re not checking.
Yes, now I can’t even remember what other search engines look like… just feel comfy with Chrome.
While chatting with you, just let you know I’m running a promo with FREE download for my book March 5 to 9. If you’re interested, here’s the link but it’ll be free Tuesday midnight.

Hi Dorinda – I checked on WP and it’s an automatic function unless you decide to unselect it. It may just be that writers don’t want the option on their blog. Hope that helps.
Hi Susi, I have it checked to allow reblogs. Every blog I looked at is missing this option. It was rather sudden. WP did this once before in a bid to force us to use “Press This” but I don’t care for it.
Anyone else still having problems with the no-show reblog button?

Some, others have different issues, like share buttons disappearing. Always something.

🙂 My blog still has its “Reblog” button.
I am speculating that this is probably an issue that is unique to those bloggers that are on the WordPress business plans.

I have the Premium. I hope they fix it, whatever it is.

🙂 Oh, you are one of their top priority customers. They will fix the issue.

HaHa I hope so! I just checked to see if it was my browser but it’s missing on Explorer & Chrome, too.

Mine is still there, but I notice some blogs don’t have the reblog buttons when I wanted to reblog. It’s annoying.

I know. My theme is lacking of a few features and it was created without them. I don’t have time to find another theme for now!!

My theme is fine, it’s just this little issue.

No, sorry. It hasn’t come back yet. It should be next to the ‘like’ button.

OK, you have to actually be in a post on my blog, AND signed into WP

Hi Tessa. they told me you have to be logged in to a WP account in order to see the reblog button. I guess it makes sense

Well I am always logged into my account. I don’t log out.

Same here. Are you not seeing the reblog?

Exactly, why would they want to limit themselves?

Certainly limits their customer base. People have their preferences on browsers.

That goes along with punishing you for blocking their ads. Wouldn’t put it past them.

I have a premium plan so no ads. But I see everyone else’s. 🤷🏻♀️

I know, my husband likes Firefox. But I like the search engine of Chrome.

Exactly. I was forced to use Firefox and then switched to a Chrome book and became used to it so now I use it on my desktop again.

I prefer Firefox over Chrome. Exactly the point. We all use a different browser. Why not format so it isn’t an issue?

I used to design sites and one of the things I learned was that you had to make it work on all browsers.
