A day like any other, though rain had darkened the sky
The clouds raced at a furious pace, the birds forgot to fly
Leaves came down in small twisters, caught upon the wind
Autumn begins to bid adieu, and the trees feel quite chagrined

I’m not even sure why, but I love this line “… and the trees feel quite chagrined.” It makes me smile.
