The sunlight fades, ever fast, away
As darkening clouds, obscure the day
Bringing daggers, lights against the gloom
With a thunderous roar, and shattering boom
Over the lands, to quench an insatiable thirst
Pelting down, from the skies, a raucous cloudburst
Flooding over the streets and sidewalks, where
People run to escape, this torrential nightmare
The falling of the rain is, how Mother Nature rebels
Until she’s had enough, then, the rain she will quell
Author’s Note: I wrote this while listening to a thunderstorm. The skies opened up and it poured!! I love writing to that sound 🙂

I do too – storms stir up inspiration for sure. Well done.

I’m always inspired by nature, be it the beauty of a flower or the rage of a storm. Thank you, Sir Walt! ❤ 🙂
