They remain faceless
Lost, in an unforgiving world
Humanity, is tasteless
On the streets, their lives, unfurled
Sneers from others, laughter
People can be so cruel
Life is a living disaster
Why isn’t this unusual?
Homeless, they fight the sun
Before night and cold alight
Hoping to find anyone
Praying for those who might
Show compassion, lend a hand
Find them shelter from the cold
For they are, just as we are, human
Hoping, they too, can grow old

So beautifully penned.
My heart breaks when I see them being left on the side, made fun of.

Most are our soldiers…no one seems to want to believe that though 😦

We are on the same page. I’ve been working on a poem about this very subject. Well done.

Amen! It breaks my heart when they are made fun of or get attacked since they already face the hardest kind of life.

Me, too, Erika! We spend millions on stupid committees when that money should be spent on shelters, and our veterans. Sadly, most homeless are those who fought for us. Now they sit on the streets. Something is so wrong there…

That’s the worst about it. They dedicated their lives to their country but the country treats them like trash. Terrible!

So full of wisdom and wonderful sentiments.
When I see a homeless person, I always think, they are someone’s child or someone’s mother. They are humans too. So perfectly said.

Yes, we are all someone’s child…
Thank you, Drew. I keep praying we end this nonsense and all humans find food, and shelter from harm.
