I always tend to be an optimist
But these days I’m not quite sure
Every day it gets harder and harder
I don’t know how much I can endure
I try not to get overwhelmed
By the daily routine of my life
But I’m stuck in a rut, an abyss
One that’s filled with unbearable strife
Pessimism was never my forte
Though the times have changed, you see
I’m beginning to think I’ve forgotten
How beautiful this life can be

Don’t give up on optimism. It is a gift that cannot be traded for money or wealth.

The winter and the state of the world do make it hard to be positive! I’m glad your beautiful writing brings you joy, my friend. It certainly brings joy to others!

That’s true, D! Winter is my worst season, and not knowing what will happen every time I step out my door, just adds to it. Thank you, for brightening my day ❤

I go for a walk in the park when that happens.

I did that over the weekend. Felt great, but it snowed here, and it’s icy as heck, so I’m in until Saturday 😦

It is cold here in the UK too.

I think we all have times when we are caught in a dark cloud. We only must not get stuck in it, stand up and hold our head above the cloud in order to remember that the sun shines there nonstop!

I don’t have wings!! I understand, there’s always the bright side. Right now, it’s tough getting there.

The dark ground can be so sticky … I understand that well, Dorinda. I hope that you can soon see the light shining through again. Sending you warm hugs, dear 💖

I would have to agree that some days make it so much harder to see the bright side of things. Life isn’t always easy. On those days, I turn to others to help me through it. Sometimes that means reaching out to my other half, and sometimes it means connecting with other like minded people such as writers – while other times it means reaching out to my mother and sisters.

I always feel like I’m being a burden on my husband and daughter. I’m not well and that puts a lot of stress on them. Writing is my way of letting it out.

I’m guessing that your husband and daughter would never see you as a burden. They love you and want to see you through it. I hope you’re feeling better very soon. Writing is therapy for the soul.💜
