The Christmas tree was lit
Only one thing left to do
String together popcorn
To create the perfect view
I carefully threaded the needle
Making sure it was nice and strong
One by one, I gathered them
To make the strand grow long
There was just one problem
My tree was much too tall
I couldn’t reach the very top
Else I’d surely face a fall
So I sat down in my comfy chair
Took the big bowl, nice and red
Forget about stringing popcorn
I’ll just eat it all, instead
