The color of silver clouded skies
Draws the darkness to my eyes
Brilliance shadowed in puffs of gray
No longer offering light of day
Frozen water from up above
Chilling haze indicative of
Winter’s linger across this place
With frozen kisses upon my face
White enshrouds what cannot bestow
Touched by gently falling snow
Pales the colors once so grand
Now faint upon the ground they stand
Bowing to the shivering wind
Once resplendent fades to dim

How beautiful the grey sky and the chilly wind can appear when packed in such wonderful words.

Thanks, Rita! Hubby asked me to write about steel skies. Can’t believe it’s two years ago already.
