Do you hear me when I cry
Feel the teardrops as they fall
Can you hear my trembling sigh
When I feel so very small
Do you see the pain inside
Can you calm the fear
Do you see what I can’t hide
Please, make the darkness disappear
Will you hold me in your arms
Comfort me at night
Will you quiet all my qualms
And chase away the fright
Hear me, see me, hold me close
Don’t let me go astray
Just be my painless antidote
Before I slip away

Dorinda, that is one of your best ones in my eyes. At least it feels amazing to me. The way you rhymed, so harmonious but at the same time that passion in it, and that smooth flow… my respect!

Thank you so very much, Erika. I wrote that after my daughter’s friend chose to end his life, very sad…. Depression is serious, maybe someday people will understand.

I see. How sad and tragic. You conveyed that in such a sensitive way in your poem.

I can relate to that very well! They only work really well when we are part of them.
