The glow of the moon
The warmth of the sun
A little boy’s laughter
The thrill as he runs

The blowing of wind
The falling of leaves
The blossom of flowers
The budding of trees

An elderly couple
Who walk hand in hand
The sound of the ocean
The feel of the sand

The colors of a rainbow
The grass on the lawn
A sign of new hope
A doe with her fawn

The song of a robin
The coo of a dove
All the bird’s sharing
Their sermon of love

The buzz of a bee
The fresh morning dew
All of God’s splendor
Is waiting for you

Without Goodbye

We talked for hours
The time flew by, without
a single thought of
anyone else
Just the two of us, sharing
laughing, listening
dreaming, of a better
world, a better tomorrow
For us

Then you’re gone
Not a moment’s notice, not
a word nor a wave
leaving me confused
Why did you stop by,
why did you stay so long
only to disappear
From my view

And I ponder the moment
we met
The happiness, the joy
the sorrow, the tears
And I can’t help
but wonder
why you left
without goodbye.

Yellow flames ignite, as
a ghostly figure dances slowly
around a column of luminous
wonder, stretching its hand
above the flame, leaning in
to seek the power,
never quite close enough
to capture the fever

Someone please explain to me
About the Easter Bunny
I’ve never seen a rabbit lay eggs
I find that rather funny

Yet every year it happens
They’re colorful and bright
A basket full of Easter eggs
That used to be just white

I tried myself to make the eggs
As pretty as can be
But somehow all the colors
Wound up all over me!

So, I’ll leave it to the bunny
As he goes his merry way
And hope he stops at your front door
This blessed Easter day.

Daddy’s Little Girl

Ten little fingers
Ten little toes
A beautiful face
With a cute button nose

As daddy you’ll always be
Baby’s first love
She’s precious, you see
A gift from above

Hold on to that little girl
As long as you can
The time flies by quickly
No wait…another man

Before you know it
You’re walking that aisle
Seems it goes on forever
Mile after mile

You hand her to him
She kisses your cheek
“Thank you, Daddy”
Is all she can speak

She stands with her new love
Her face is aglow
He’s holding her now
And not letting go

As she begins her new life
You wonder if she
Will remember the days
She bounced on your knee

The memories made
It’s all been a whirl
But she’ll always remain
Daddy’s little girl
