sunrise-580379_960_720Golden orb of daylight shine
Deceptive in your glow
No warmth from brilliance do you bring
Upon the earth below

Crystal prisms from clouds above
Tossed about, one by one, adorn
Swirling with the wind so free
Covering ground, in the chill of morn

Flaxen skies peek quietly through
As if they are forbidden
Deceiving hope of warmer days
Behind the clouds, are hidden

Light the Earth

In a Frosty Glow

Melt away the Cover

Of winter’s Snow

Cast Aside the Cold

That Chills us so

In the Crisp of the air

A Warmth you’ll Bestow

Warns of days to come

She floats through the Wood
Ethereal, Divine
Evergreen in White

Blanketing the Ground
With a Touch of her Hand
Creating a Wondrous Sight

Coating the Earth
With a Snow that is Pure
Celestial and Light

Casting Darkness Away
She Enlightens the Day
And Illuminates the Night

woman-698987_960_720These aches and this chill
Don’t give me a thrill
I phoned up the doctor
He said take a pill

The coughing and sneezing
Is not very pleasing
Can’t breathe through my nose
All you hear is me wheezing

The tissues are piling
I’m no longer smiling
This bug in my body
Is really quite riling

The pounding of my head
As I lie in my bed
Watery eyes flowing by
And my nose is all red

Can’t wait till it’s done
This is not any fun
Bring back the summer
I need me some sun!
