Eventide

Twilight reaches for the night

When darkening clouds invade

Covering the last of sun

With thick and dusky shade

Disguised within a blackening sky

Luminous shadows emerge

Eventide, sunset’s light

When day and night converge

When the colors of twilight

Welcome the calm of the night

And the only sound I hear

Is your heartbeat whispering near

And I feel your love’s caress

As we lay this day to rest

I look above, Perchance to See
As Fire paints the Night
Colors blending Perfectly
With the soon Approaching Twilight

Shadows begin to cross the land
Seeking out their slumber
And I Take in the Last of Day
And all there is to Wonder

As Sun sets slowly in the western Sky
Casting her Glow on my Face
She bows to the Moon with a Wink of her Eye
As he Silently takes her Place

The rustle of a tree

As it gently blows free

The hoot of an owl

Before his evening prowl

The flap of a bat’s wings

As the air softly sings

Twilight’s dusk heeds the call

The beautiful sounds of Nightfall

The picture above, of the moon, Venus & Mars, was taken by me on Friday evening, from my driveway. It was a spectacular sight to behold. I hope you all had the chance to see it!
