I lurk in the shadows

That block out the sun

Long for the hours

When daylight is done

Dwell in the darkness

Tis where I’m content

Hidden, unnoticed

Is how my life’s spent

I am one with the creatures

Who stir in the night

Awaiting the sunset

To silence the light
