For a moment
I will stand and let the wind
Take my breath away
Pierce through me
Like a talon through its prey

For a moment
I will let the sun’s rays
Envelop my skin
Comfort my soul
Warm deep within

For a moment
I will whisk away
To another place
Forget about sorrow
Find a lighter space

For a moment
I will let my guard down
Give others a chance
To twirl to infinity
Get lost in the dance

Yet, for more than a moment
I will listen to my heart
The gentle whispers
Of loved ones gone
Wrapped up in my soul
Forever, and yon
