As she lifts the veil

Awakening morning’s light

Freedom is given

Her flocks fly hurriedly by

Before darkness reigns again

Darkened room, no light to spare
She likes to sit alone and stare
Across the way, without a care

Her thoughts, indeed, do wander

No curtains hang on window panes
So many broken, let in the rain
And wash her reality down the drain

Reminiscing, moments squandered

Her hands, unsteady, though try she might
With cursed pens, no ink, spill white
As words, reflected, become quite trite

Why paper bleeds, she dare not ponder

Bending down to grasp the red
She finds her mind, uneasily shred
Is she now one, among the dead?

A thought, of which she grows fonder

All clear for landing

Wings, in upright position

Gracefully alight

To Gather His Brethren – #poetry of #Easter – #NaPoWriMo

In the presence of a light, so pure
Rising, ablaze, setting skies afire
They kneel to He who does endure
The sins of those who, once, held him higher

As dawn does break, awakening life
His hand lay heavy upon his heart
Those he trusted, instead, brought strife
And in turn, he must now depart

Come Friday morn, the maidens cry
They know what will happen soon
For this is the day their King shall die
When skies darken through afternoon

Watching as He makes his way
Carrying the cross He bears for all
His mother weeps, on this sullen day
And once again, her son does fall

Soldiers grow tired of this man, so frail
They call upon Simon to carry the weight
As the heavy wooden beam lay a trodden trail
With Jesus following, to seal his fate

Cries from the crowd, as He hangs from the cross
Though He hears not what they have to say
He speaks to His Father, but His words seem lost
Wondering, how He came to meet this day

He begs for mercy from Heaven above
While He forgives us through His pain
As we learn to embrace this unending love
The skies explode, in tears of rain

Two days pass, and the tomb lay still
As no one dare touch this sacred place
On the third day, moved the stone on the hill
Though empty, only shrouds, in its space

He has arisen, has come back from the dead
In fulfillment, watch, as He gathers His brethren
He’ll rise up, again, and glad tears will be shed
As we join Him, in the Kingdom of Heaven!

Happy Easter Everyone!  He has arisen! ❤

Cloaked in red, she stands in prayer
What lurks behind, she is unaware

Within her hands she holds the key
To unlock this forest’s mystery

But she is the only one to know
Will never let these secrets go

Though another lies in wait
For that perfect moment, unlock the fate

Of all who dwell within these woods
To release the forest’s ghostly goods

At last she senses, this maiden fair
Of who he is, she best beware

As he creeps closer, where she stands
And reaches out his unearthly hands

In hopes he can retrieve this key
Believes it belongs to only he

One more step, he is oh so near
And just like that, she disappears

Never able to uncover the mystery
It is locked away, the key, with she.
