Deep in the Forest
In the Trunk of a Tree
You’ll find the Leprechaun’s Lair
Where he Hoards his Riches
So no one can see
What’s Hidden Away down there
Bread and Cheese, Grapes and Gold
A Pint overflowing with Foam
A Feast for one, not Many
Greedy is he
Stay Away from his Tree
He’ll Never Give you Any!

So many days
Just wasted away
Time passes by
Without much delay
We forget who we are
Forget what we mean
It all becomes blurry
Too familiar a scene
We stop for a moment
Then pick up the pace
Trying hard to recall
A much happier place
A sigh of exhaustion
Escapes from our lips
Like dots on the radar
We’ve all become blips
Carrying out
The work of the day
Leaving no gap
To unwind or to play
We must take time to listen
To the sound of the rain
Find the time to relax
Breathe in life once again
