Ashes Breathe the Fire of Life
Rising from Smoldering Flames
Frenzied and Fevered
She Ignites a Spark
Captivating her Claim
Unearthly Desires Swirl from within
Kindling a Blaze, Incandescent
Charred and Blackened
She Leaves a Mark
Her Fiery Heart, Incessant

Do not fear the sands of time
As they slip between this glass
Time is only borrowed
All good things must pass
To yet another journey
Another land set far away
A place to find your hidden soul
That life has led astray
Yes, follow us and ride the night
As you take your one last breath
We have come to bring you home
Eternity, in the land of death

I sat upon the mountain top
Gazing down on the earth below
Basking in all the wonders of life
With the sun in the sky, aglow
A gentle breeze blew slowly past
Like the flutter of a butterfly’s wings
Turning my face toward its gentle caress
I could hear the woodlands sing
Their song, the sound of angel harps
Each chord, a gossamer string
Melodies fly on the wisp of a cloud
With the beauty of all God’s things

The sound of the rain falling
Upon a roof made of tin
Awakens the sleeping spirit
Invites the wanderer within
To heed the gentle calling
Of Heaven’s cleansing tears
To wash away the grime of day
To seek, to find, so near
Tranquility surrounding
Peace and light abounding
To find your soul
And make you whole
The echoes of life resounding

Hidden deep, the mystery lies
Lost in the shadow of night
Beneath the wisp of branches
That sway in the full moon bright
A silent swoop of mighty wings
The raptor on a darkened chase
Sating an ever claiming hunger
He’s eclipsed by this woodland place
A flicker of flight against ebony sky
Undetected in the blackened night
The predator with his conquered stash
Disappears with the morning light
