05 Saturday Jul 2014
I took a pill
Hoping to fall asleep
Without dreaming of you
Instead your image
Became more vivid
Through the clouded mist
Your face forever etched
Into my mind
A vision forever seen
With closed eyes

05 Saturday Jul 2014
Sweltering heat
As the sun climbs
Droplets of salt
Sliding down your skin
Offering no relief
From the burning light
A vision ahead
Of tropical trees
And cooling waters
A softly blowing breeze
And a mirage of comfort

03 Thursday Jul 2014
Through the smoke
I can still see you
Standing
On the other side
Your eyes ablaze
With the fire
Set upon the bridge
That now severs us
No chance to cross
As flames touch the night
The fear of being scarred
Ever fuels the heat, until
There is nothing but ashes
Burning embers
Absent confessions
Wafting away in the breeze

02 Wednesday Jul 2014
Darkness comes
As daylight shines
Through crystal glass
Dancing about
Prisms of colors
Bouncing off of
Objects black as coal
Darkening still
The fireball diminishes
Leaving behind a cooling breeze
To stifle the heavy air
Tamping it down
Stomping like a small child
In a tantrum
Then light begins again
Slowly restoring
The colors of the Earth
And the sky ignites
As the celestial orbs
Take their rightful place
Among the heavens

I see a reflection in your eyes
Do I recognize the images
Is it the mirror to your soul
Will you bestow upon me
The door that opens, allowing me
To catch a glimpse of your desires
Will you share your innermost thoughts
Or quickly close the portal before
I find my way in, ever lost in you
