In my life
I have seen it twice
By the grace of God
I’ll see it thrice

When skies turn black
As day becomes night
When moon passes over
On celestial flight

And sun turns dark
This mysterious thing
Which hushes the trees
When birds do not sing

Silence falls, as shadows reign
And things no longer, look the same

Then sun resumes
Its majestic light
And moon slinks on
Away from sight

Eclipse my eyes
My lunar friend
I am with you
Til the end

Twilight envelops
Nature, becomes mere shadow
As day turns to night

A Ghoul’s Delight – #poetry #Halloween

Darkness falls
The midnight hour
Creatures scurrying
For treats, they scour

Human flesh
A ghoul’s delight
Plenty of pickings
Tis Halloween night

Unassuming, out and about
Trick or Treat
They hear you shout
This is their cue
A delight fills their eyes
They whisk you away
No one hears your cries

So watch your kiddies
And watch all around
You never know when
You’re next to be found

No escape from the evil
There’s no place to turn
Could it be the end?
Of this, you discern…

Unsettled – #poetry

Unsettled, the skies weep
With darkened eyes, clouded
The sun, continues to sleep
Masked, hidden, shrouded

By haze and smoke that lingers
Though flames, nowhere, can be seen
The air, so thick, through my fingers
I am lost in an unending dream

Floating endlessly, eyes unaware
There are others who journey, too
Each of us spaced, obsidian glare
No chance for our sight to renew
