In my life
I have seen it twice
By the grace of God
I’ll see it thrice

When skies turn black
As day becomes night
When moon passes over
On celestial flight

And sun turns dark
This mysterious thing
Which hushes the trees
When birds do not sing

Silence falls, as shadows reign
And things no longer, look the same

Then sun resumes
Its majestic light
And moon slinks on
Away from sight

Eclipse my eyes
My lunar friend
I am with you
Til the end

His minions swirled
Around the castle, dark
Blackened shingles
Stand cold and stark
Still, this prince
Will leave his mark
On the one so unsuspecting

Glow bright, as world’s collide

Seek out the shadows of night

Covered in clouds, I cannot see

The dimming of your light

Earth has overshadowed you

Only darkness on your face

Until the sun reclaims the sky

All is not well, in outer space

Moon set slowly, do not leave

Your face, I need to see

For only you can understand

The emptiness, inside of me
