He forged a life, made of promises unkept
Each time, the mortal’s chain grew stronger
Unaware, in his future, he would be inept
As every day, the silver links, grew longer

Passing the time, he sought out his own
Thought they’d understand him the best
Not one would listen, his voice, a drone
They’d all come to despise and detest

Sinking away, to his cold, lonely house
Even the fire could not warm him tonight
He knew it didn’t matter, were he to grouse
He had saddled himself, with this plight

Soon he was called to the afterlife, where
He was fitted, with his now complete chain
Each link, a reminder of how he didn’t care
Every movement, of the weight, was his pain

This poem, I sigh, is the last one
For M‘s crazy month of prompts

She had us going everywhere
With verses, quite the romp!

We wrote of purple nurples
And pink poodles, those crazy pups

Myrtle just kept moaning, poor gal
With Guzzling Gary, we couldn’t keep up

I could just go on and on
In fact, I’m pretty sure I did

Time to wrap this poetry
On top, I’ve put the lid

It all amounted to simply this
Fizzy Whizzys and Galloping Gadzooks

Now, it’s time to end this poetic March
Think I’ll down some Jamba Juice!

March Writing Prompt:  Jamba Juice – Day 31/31 – Another month in the books! April’s prompts are awesome. Can’t wait to see what everyone writes! 🙂

Mr. Bunny hops, here and there

Hurry scurry, with nary a care

He has to gather colored eggs

For little Johnny, Mike and Peg

Baskets filled with grasses, green

And every color in between

Chocolates that seem never melt

Marshmallow peeps, expand your belt

Jelly beans, to send the sugar rush higher

He’s racing around, to fill your desires

When everything’s ready, he’ll be headed your way

Please leave a carrot for him, this Easter Sunday

Myrtle, it seems, was a terrible moaner

Which led to her becoming quite the loner

Miserable, she was, while waiting for him

Ventured out, on a lark, to satisfy a whim

Took a tour of the city, in a big fancy car

Made her name as she danced in every bar

The patrons made sure, to invite her back again

She made them promise, to be gentlemen

Even though they once caused dear Myrtle to frown

She now makes them smile, she’s the toast of the town

Hidden beneath the earth
In a grotto, the tide rolls in
Is this place I can call my very own
Where tranquil waters caress my skin

I watch the sunlight streaming
From the darkness of my cave
Reflections float around me
Yet, I am not afraid

Though peaceful ripples signal
The tide is about to change
I will not leave this treasure
For everywhere else is strange

Here is where I feel at home
This is where I wish to stay
Quietly listening, to the sounds
Of the water, from the bay
