Perhaps the man in the moon
Is not a man at all
Perhaps he’s just a little boy
One who’s rather small

He likes to hang around by day
In the light, he can’t be seen
Swinging merrily, above the clouds
His expression, quite serene

But, the only way to truly know
Is to awaken from your dream
Sadly, that would chase him away
And that’s really too extreme

So, let your imagination take you
Let the sandman lead you on
Before the light of day appears
And the illusion, all at once, is gone

Leather and Lace ~ #poetry #RomanticTuesday

Windblown, in the gentle breeze

Hair that’s tangled, in quiet reprise

Thoughts are running, through her mind

She dreams of him, the desirous kind

Longing to have him hold her tight

She wrestles, with the empty night

For he no longer needs her sweet embrace

No appetite for leather, and lace

Has he played her, once again, the fool?

How could she break her only rule?

To never allow him to partake

That which she, would not, forsake

She wonders long, and ponders still

Perhaps it was never against her will

Blazing Heat ~ #poetry

Through forest paths of fallen pines

I dare not tread beyond the lines

Of trails once traveled by those before

Trampled pieces, laid on the floor

The forest creatures flee in fright

Their habitat, a dreadful sight

No shelter left from blazing heat

No protection for their feet

Nothing to shield the flames of fire

There is nothing left but fallen brier

A single match was all it took

To change the way the forest looks

Charred beyond, this sight, obscene

By man, who burned, the evergreen

Note: Human-caused fires burn more than 2. 5 million acres each year, or nearly 4,000 square miles — an area bigger than Delaware. (FoxNews US)

Cloaked in clouds, so dark the night

Reveals an aura, burning bright

An orb which shines, upon the land

Once hidden, now, the master plan

Illuminating, you seek to find

What resonates within your mind

A secret, no one else shall know

Behind the ebony sky, its glow

Creates an image, another place

Is it still a man, or some other face?

Perhaps it’s Luna, the goddess, who waits

For you to join her, and seal your fate
