Do not look for me
Hidden in a fort
Beneath icy snow
Still falling carelessly above

Between the daffodils and daisies
Amidst the cool grasses
Of a wakening meadow

Along the dunes on the beach
Betwixt the waves
Crashing on the shore

Encompassed by leaves
Strewn across the ground
In no particular way

In the obvious places
You presume to find
A wandering spirit
I will not be there

Instead look within and find
A life otherwise uncommon
With its own rhythm
A heart’s journey

It is there you may find
Who you are seeking
It is there you will
Find me lost

I journey out into the night
Reach my hands up to the sky
Run my fingers through the stars
And hear the angels sigh

They shine their light
From the heavens above
Eternally keeping watch
With their undying love

Ethereal beings
Kept close to our hearts
Till we meet them again
Ne’er to depart

 

Dedicated to dear friends and loved ones who have left this Earth much too soon. We all have angels watching over us….

Fragments of my life

Wondering if ever

I’ll find my whole self

Or be left incomplete

As each leaf fell to its watery grave

It created a beautiful picture

From shadows above, reflected, the sun

A masterpiece, made from a mixture

Of nature’s last breaths, not really a death

A mere reminder, of how life is done

I waited in autumn

Near our bench, for you

The leaves fell, floating

Reaching, never touching

The ground, filled with

Pine trees, shedding

Their coats of needles

And I, I could shed no tears

Watching, listening, not hearing

Is when I knew, you had gone

And this bench, shall remain empty

Forever and always, like

The emptiness, deep within my heart
