Watching waves, cresting, high

Those summer days did seem to fly

Then autumn came in, with a sigh

Followed by winter’s icy cry

Awaiting spring, new life I’d spy

And oh the days, still drifting by

The seasons of our lives

I drift

Into the clouds

Thoughts linger like the mist

Early morning wakes, yet I

Continue to sleep

Aware and unaware,

Ascending, descending

Lost in the turbulence of life

Wondering where I belong

Seeking answers

To questions never asked

Finding solace in the unknown

For there I am free

Untethered, no stigmas

Unchained to reality

Unprovoked by the demons

That caress my heart

I dream, still

Afloat, while sunlight fades

And the skies weigh heavy

I know of only one place

Where I can breathe, so

Blissfully into oblivion

I drift

A streetlight casts an eerie glow

Illuminating, lanes below

Snow dust, blows, among the trees

Quietly drifting, in the breeze

Coating all, that once was green

Creating a flawless, ethereal scene

Softly drifting in velvet sands

Particles of life gently moving

Defining life’s existence

Slow Drift

I’m drifting,

Like gently fallen snow,

Blown by winter’s sigh.

Swirling freely,

Taking flight, then

Softly falling,

Slowly drifting by.
