img_2676This Cooper’s hawk sat as still as could be, in my neighbors tree, then swooped down, through my yard, and into my other neighbors tree.  What a spectacular sight.  I was too awestruck to take a picture!!  🙂

She found herself

In this unearthly place

Felt his presence

Chill her face

Watched the mist

Against the ground

Rise, then fall

Without a sound

Could this be illusion?

A trick, not a treat

He’s slowly surrounding

Himself, at her feet

Feeling the tug

She realizes fast

As he pulls her under

With a sinister grasp
