Yes, I am common, and blend in with the crowd

Though at times, I can really dominate the scene

Sometimes I am quiet, and sometimes I am loud

But most times, I am somewhere, in between

She was nothing but common
Until she donned the mask

How ironic, no one could see

The one who was hiding
Perhaps in plain sight

Could’ve, at any time, been me

Makeup didn’t change her
Simply, she was the same

How iconic, she had become

Kept them guessing all the time
The fools, they’d never know

How absurd, and oh, how fun!

They fell at her feet, this maiden
Clung to her, day and night

Seemingly, couldn’t get enough

Outside, she laughed, and toyed
But inside, she was different

From behind the mask, she’d rebuff
