A bridge to find a new world to explore

Not one just outside my front door

Some place far away, a simpler kind

Nothing to carry, a load off my mind

A bridge, to the warm heart of a land

To a country where there are no demands

Across the equator, and southern plain

Friendly people walking down the lane

In Africa, Malawi, holds these treasures

Landlocked, the lake so pure, a pleasure

Muli bwanji, is the way to say hello

Always extend a greeting, as you go

Happy people, grace this humble place

And surely bring a smile, to a hardened face

It was only a matter of time
And everyone watching knew

No matter how hard he tried
Sam was always dropping Lou

It became a daily occurrence
People drove for miles to see

If Lou would finally realize
Sam was doing it purposely

He got a kick out of watching
A warped sense of humor, the nut

Ladies walking by, would scowl
At poor Lou, sitting there, on his butt

Always vowing to seek revenge
Sam knew it would never happen

Foibles and follies, it’s who they were
Left the folks laughin’ and clappin’

I thought April’s prompts were done

Then along comes Will Robinson

Can this get any stranger?

Oh wait, Danger! Danger!

Michelle sure has a weird sense of fun!

But I have to admit, I don’t mind

It’s kind of my way to unwind

I go to some faraway place

Where I can get “lost in space”

And be away from the day to day grind!

She wouldn’t listen when they tried to warn her
Drinking soda was no good for her waist

But she was addicted to sweet Nuka-Cola
She simply adored its taste

There was something about the flavor
The more she drank, the more she would crave

Never heeded the warning label
That sent her straight to an early grave

Right there, on the front of the bottle
Underneath the soft drink’s name

Excessive consumption unhealthy
Warning: choking hazard, it proclaimed

April Writing Prompt:  Nuka-Cola Asphyxiola – Day 30/30
Normally, this would be the last poem for April’s writing prompts, but it seems Michelle sneaked in an extra day…so April has 31!!!

Narf and Snarf’s Gnarly Adventure ~ #AprilWriting #poetry

Two friends went out for a ride
Always hanging, by each other’s side
It was the righteous thing to do
Besides, it was nothing new
Both of them took it in stride

Narf finally met his bride to be
Sitting under a magnolia tree
Let’s go out on a date
Won’t get you home late
I promise, he said, wait and see

“Cowabunga!” Narf cried, with joy
A slap on the back, “Atta boy!”
Came from his dear friend Snarf
Who really wanted to barf
This friendship, a girl did destroy

Seems Snarf was just being screwed
By a so called pal, who was rude
Cared not for his friend
And, so this was the end
Of the adventures of two gnarly dudes
