I wasn’t able to participate in Sue’s #writephoto – Glimmer – last week, but the picture was too beautiful to pass up.  Better late than never!  🙂

Tis but a glimmer

Of light that shines below me

Ah but the night calls

In a glowing masterpiece

Painted by the setting sun

Sunlight on the lake

Graces gray with a luster

Shimmering droplets

Dance with the rippling waters

Like fireflies in the night

Spirits beckon you

Hail the feelings within

Fear not the darkness

For it will echo through you

When the night becomes alive

Nestled in the dark

Hidden by emerald leaves

A wood creature stands

Guarding his territory

From those who dare destroy it

We begin from flesh

Return to the earth as bone

Awaiting entrance

Hoping, as we, mere mortals

End, with the sheer grace of God
