She knew something was up
When he didn’t come for dinner
She even prepared his favorite sauce
He always told her, it was a winner

She tried not to think of the worst
Maybe he got stuck at work
More like he was out, with some floozy
That husband of hers, what a jerk!

She decided to teach him a lesson
In fact, she made it her only mission
When he came in, she smelled perfume
And knew then, it wasn’t a suspicion

He tried to explain where he had been
But she wasn’t buying it, not one bit
Took her saucepan off the stove top
And gave him a great big hit

On top of his head, with a thud
He landed, flat on his back
Maybe next time, he’ll think twice
Before he spends time in another sack

Between the forest, lush and green

There’s a road that takes you where

The woodlands, covered in the mist

Wait peacefully, but beware

Beyond the heavy fog, there lies

A mystery, not for the meek

You can feel the energy around you

Feel the rush of its mystique

As tales once told, the hidden spirits

Do still linger here these days

Dare you walk this way alone

They just may come out and play

For blended in the whitest fog

An ethereal presence is strong

Tis when you will finally realize

They’ve been waiting for you, all along

No matter what he typed on the screen
He’d get the same answer, every time
Seems his tablet had a mind of its own
Especially as the dinner bells would chime

It’s Tuesday, you know what that means
It kept reminding him, all day long
Though he’d always try to ignore the pangs
He knew, he really wasn’t that strong

Eventually, he would have to give in
And make his way to the local eatery
Where he’d sit and order his favorite meal
Three beef tacos and some beanery

This would, of course, explain it all
Poor guy, surely has my sympathy
It’s quite hard to ignore a computer
That constantly uses taco telepathy

Plump and provocative, feathers in their hair

These ladies showed their curves, anytime, anywhere

Didn’t care what others thought, or what they had to say

They enjoyed the attention, on any given day

Liked to show off for the gents, who waited by the door

Pleased them all, but seemed, they always wanted more

Not to worry, dear boys, there was plenty to go around

These ladies were quite worth it…

Ounce for ounce, and pound for pound

The beaches, now empty

Another summer is gone

Tis the changing of seasons

As this sight, I came upon

Watching the sun shine

On this lonely, cool morn

With the ocean, ever lingering

While this new day is born

No footprints in the sand

Just the glow, of the skies

As I stare, at the beauty

Of a September sunrise
