For C & J – two beautiful people
She tries so hard, just to be

The one she wants him to see

Through all the ups and downs

And the turmoil that swirls around

He smiles and laughs his boyish grin

Knowing well, from deep within

Her love for him shall never waver

This is ultimately what will save her

From wondering if she’s got it right

When at times, she’s up all night

Just watching as he breathes, she sighs

Questioning the reasons why

She doubts herself when she can see

The fine young man he’s grown to be

Mysterious eyes of icy blue

Hide the lies that once were true

Shrouded behind her feathered masque

Afraid that she’ll be brought to task

For what she did so long ago

No, what she did, they cannot know

Nor who she was before that day

When the fire left her, went away

And turned her heart as cold as rime

Sealing memories, lost in time

Frozen, she can no longer feel

A hardened heart, she must conceal

Standing by an open window
Soaking in the warmth and air
Breezing through my thoughts
And wondering just where

The hours have gone, passing by
Vanishing much too swiftly
No chance to get them back, you see
They left me here, too quickly

So I lean back and soak it in
As daylight turns to shade
Press my face against the glass
And watch the sunlight fade…

Ice, the color of ebony night

She spins her crystals into light

Droplets cast an unearthly glow

Falling gently, down below

Magical, bright, o’er the land

Illusion created by the touch of her hand
