When I troll through the kitchen

Looking for something sweet

Opening cabinet doors

In search of a treat

I find myself in a tizzy

I need a quick fix

Then what do I spy?

Oh, it’s pancake mix!

Now most of you are saying

This surely cannot replete

But mix it with applesauce

Then dessert is complete!

Add a bit of powdered sugar

And some whipped cream, for sure

Voile! Homemade applesauce pie

Holds the sweetest allure

Call upon my heart, in a whispering sigh

Fold me in your arms, as time rushes by

Tell me tales of tomorrow, let my heart soar

In hushed, quiet moments, tis what I live for

Let us be one, with a gentle caress

The touch of two hearts, easily express

The rhythm of love, endlessly sublime

Our bodies in sync, mere poetry in rhyme

A touching remark

Although never forgotten

Is missed when unsaid

There was no other way to describe her
Rather pitiful, was what came to mind
A lady should never be locked out
Gentlemen must learn to be kind
Every day, no words would be spoken
Destitute, bewildered and broken
You have to wonder how this can occur
She held onto the rose, so tightly
Painfully feeling the thorns
Everything she knew, was gone
Leaving her sad, and forlorn
Love was all that she wished for
Even her harlequin heart knew why
Desperately seeking happiness
Melancholic, all she did was cry
I tried to comfort her, offered my hand
She refused me, so sad to see
Every bit the lost soul, as she sat and waited
Reminded me only of me
Yearning, no longer to be, a forgotten, sweet tragedy
