She shot only once, to unleash the hell

Of flaming arrows, on those who dwell

Upon the grounds, so sacred, pure

Now laid in ruins, and left obscure

To all who dreamt, of life, ideal

A vision of beauty, life surreal

Came crashing down, among the brave

Sending them, to an early grave

Abolishing demons, was their plight

Saving others, they dared to fight

Where once there stood, quite profound

Their paradise, burning, to the ground

A wasteland, on which the earth, now shook

One simple arrow, was all it took

No matter how hard I tried to stop

The dreams kept floating past

Fields of flowers, skies of blue

Rainbow colored skies were cast

Snow covered mountains, hilltop greens

Made my senses whirl with delight

Whispered winds and budding trees

Made everything seem right

Until the day, when I got caught

With my head still in the clouds

Seems my boss had other plans

Daydreaming was not allowed

Knit one, purl two

What on earth was I to do?

It’s supposed be a scalloped edge

Looks more like someone’s garden hedge

I must have dropped a stitch somewhere

I could go back, and count, and swear

I’ll never knit another sweater

But silly me, I know much better

How these needles play their tricks on me

So I’m off to find a quilting bee

The clouded skies had darkened my view

I knew where to look, but couldn’t find you

The mist in the air gave a strange, eerie feel

I wondered exactly what it tried to conceal

Into the black, where I could no longer see

I wondered aloud, what has become of thee?

Then I caught a glimpse, from the sky above

My heart skipped a beat, I had found my true love

The one, who makes the evening, so perfectly right

When his light casts upon me, in the ebony night

Perchance, we could meet, once again, on a lark

This heavenly orb, and me, in the dark

There was an aura about her

When she sat before the keys

Her melodies spoke of angels

With each note, she’d appease

Porcelain fingers over ivory bars

Reminded me, always, that she had come far

A light in the darkness, she brought me much joy

Quietly I would listen, and never annoy

But one day the piano laid silent and still

No longer was the music being played with her skill

What I found in her place, was a single red rose

Her goodbye to me, just her way, I suppose

Yet her song forever lingered, sweetly, in my mind

For she was my music, so lyrical, and refined
