No matter the angle in which we view

Seems it’s always changing before us

They claim what you see is normalcy

No reason to cause such a fuss

Multicolored phrases

Catch on the tips of tongues

How can we believe the words?

When the truths become undone

Seems simple to tell the story

When the lies come too quickly to mind

Not so, when you try to remember them

Who you are is now clearly defined

How easy it is to burst that bubble

When it’s made only of water and soap

Much easier to tell the truth, my friend

Much harder to shorten the rope

Sunlight stains the window
I pour myself some tea
Tears flow from my swollen eyes
What has become of me?

I find myself inside this place
No reason to go outside
Afraid someone will see my pain
And I’ll have to run and hide

Away from the morning monsters
And the afternoon creatures I fear
Nighttime comes calling too quickly
And I find myself rather drear

Behind the glass panes, I surrender
To the despair I keep hidden so well
Although I have tried to escape me
I’m still locked in this living hell

Even when she cleaned the house
She always dressed her best
Can’t answer the door to neighbors
Looking like anything less

She donned her favorite red
Black pumps completed the look
Vacuuming, here and there
Getting every cranny and nook

She dressed to impress, no doubt
A woman with savoir-faire
If the others talked about her style
She never really cared

Maybe she needed someone else
But there never was a trace
Perhaps one day he’d come along
And help around the place

So meticulous, in all she did
Never leaving anything to chance
She continued with the vacuuming
In the hopes she’d suck up romance

I am, forever, a stargazer
A watcher of the night
The stars become my lantern
In the darkness, they’re my light

But there is one who shines
In the sky, such sheer delight
A mighty huntsman, sword in hand
Oh, what a glorious sight

Orion, among the heavens
His distinctive glow in the sky
A belt that shimmers brightly
Three kings, all seated high

Let him guide your journey
You can feel his woeful plight
But mind the tail of Scorpio
Lest you, too, feel his bite

What once held treasure long ago

Stands empty, surrounded by moss

A pot made of clay, filled with dismay

The garden, surely feeling its loss

An insignificant artifact, they claimed

Twas tossed aside, thrown away

Til it returned to its place, adding its grace

No longer a vessel, becoming passé
