We shouldn’t acquiesce, about what the future holds

To resort to this feeling, leaves us unopened to change

Dare to challenge life, and as things start to unfold

Never, ever settle, for what you can always rearrange

Winged ones take flight, covering the sky

Leaving behind, the homes they have built

No need to feel forlorn, for they will return

Rebuilding their nests, with love, to the hilt!

With our windows, frosted, from winter’s rime

We watched snowflakes waltzing, a dance, sublime

And a bright red cardinal, sat high, in the tree

These two, paired together, in perfect harmony
