Can you believe it’s the last day of #NaPoWriMo?? National Poetry Month doesn’t last long enough! Thanks for visiting and reading my poem-a-day. It feels really good to be writing again. ❤

How can tomorrow
Already be May?
I’ve not left this branch
Not even to play
Surely, time
Has escaped me
I guess I’ll just stay

Shout out to Annette Rochelle Aben for planting the seed. Here is the sequel to An Old Bridge.

Darkness now surrounds you
You can feel your body falling
There’s nothing to hang on to
Arms and legs, about, are sprawling
Your eyes cannot adjust, no light
You’re blinded, tumbling fast
Praying this is just a dream
And you’ll wake up, at last
You yell for help, hoping
Someone can hear your call
But all you hear are echoes
Of your voice, against the wall
It seems your fear was justified
Never should have taken the leap
The weight of all your troubles
Sent you to your eternal sleep
For when you fall into the abyss
You’ll, forever, slumber deep…
