An image, shattered

Broken, into splintered shards

Reflection, unseen

Hollow

Withdrawn, a cocoon envelops
Closing off the din
Sadness reigns in darkness
As emptiness creeps in

Quietly lingering, afraid
Shadows seem to follow
Once the night, embracing
Now making her feel hollow

Cast aside, the longing starts
A yearning, undeserving
No happiness is there to find
The pain comes on, preserving

What little feeling she holds dear
How can life be oh so cruel?
Perhaps, she can escape this fate
With only but herself to fool

Moonlit shadows merge

Haphazard reflections draw

Secretive stories

In my life
I have seen it twice
By the grace of God
I’ll see it thrice

When skies turn black
As day becomes night
When moon passes over
On celestial flight

And sun turns dark
This mysterious thing
Which hushes the trees
When birds do not sing

Silence falls, as shadows reign
And things no longer, look the same

Then sun resumes
Its majestic light
And moon slinks on
Away from sight

Eclipse my eyes
My lunar friend
I am with you
Til the end

Twilight envelops
Nature, becomes mere shadow
As day turns to night
