Good morning, friends. Happy Sunday!  A day to relax and find that inner peace.  So happy to have you join me for a cup of tea!  Let’s chat.  🙂

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: this past Monday was my birthday.  It was quiet, and it was lovely.  I’m not big on birthdays unless they belong to someone else.  I celebrate life every day, when I wake up, and open my eyes.  I thank the good Lord above for giving me yet another chance, to get it right!

As gifts, I received two books, one on poetry and one a mystery.  I’m looking forward to reading (and reviewing) both very soon.

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: Halloween was fun!  We broke our record of 12 trick-or-treaters!  Yep, we had 13 this year!  Now you’re wondering why I’m excited about that?  My house sits on a hill and the driveway is steep.  Most kids won’t walk up.  But this year, not only were the kids coming up, so were the moms and dads, who were also dressed up!  Made answering the doorbell a little sweeter (pun intended).  Times have changed, most have house parties, or trunk-or-treat at school.  I’ll take what we get.

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: Last week, I told you about Vanilla, the corgi we got to take care of.  This weekend, we have a different pup.  This is Shadow, America’s Pup!  He belongs to an awesome man named Frank, who works very hard for our Veterans.  Shadow is a therapy pup in training, and goes to many of the veteran events Frank is involved in.

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: I have decided that I will not be posting on Saturdays.  I need one day during the week to just veg.  Although, I admit, there are still thousands of words swirling around in my head.  Hard to shut them off sometimes, but I am making an effort to just spend time with my family.

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: I mentioned last week, my hubby’s favorite line, “what til you get to be my age.”  Right now, we are the same age.  His line is now, “This is what it’s like to be my age.”  I can’t win! LOL  Since Lys is away, we celebrated Neil’s birthday the other night.  Lys treated us to a wonderful dinner at Charlie Brown’s.

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: Saturday’s are meant for doing nothing.  And that’s pretty much what we did.  We went to my favorite park, played with a beautiful Labradoodle, and just watched the stillness of the lake.  The reflections and shadows were amazing.  The temp could have been a bit warmer, but we stayed and enjoyed.

As for the week ahead:

If we were sipping tea, basking in the sun and talking I would tell you: tomorrow hubby turns the big 6-0!  But it’s also a very somber day for us, as Neil’s dad passed away on Neil’s birthday.  It’s been 31 years and we miss him more each day.  ❤

If we were sipping tea, basking in the sun and talking I would tell you: it’s off to church I go!  Our friend John will be leading worship today.  So inspirational!  Be well, and have a blessed week, my friends!  ❤
