Good morning, friends! I hope you’ve had a great last week! Grab your tea, iced or hot, make yourselves comfy and let’s talk! 🙂
If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: how much fun I am having meeting each of you for tea on Sunday’s. It’s very heartwarming, and it makes me smile. 🙂
If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: hubby is still mending from his work injury. He went back to the doctor on Thursday, the doctor continued the meds, and hubby returns again tomorrow. I think he’ll need physical therapy, but we shall see. (Bet you didn’t know I had an MD after my name…neither did I).
If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: I saw the doctor myself on Tuesday, and my blood work came back pretty good. Yay! A couple of issues but nothing I can’t overcome. I have two tests on Monday morning. I’m praying they, too, come back okay. I’ve had enough already!!
If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: hubby, Lys and I went to see “Secret Life of Pets 2” on Friday night. What fun!! If you’re a fan of McDonald’s, then you know they have been giving out the toys from the movie. I have every one of them except the hamster. I’m bummed. And yes, I get Happy meals. Don’t judge me. lol
If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: we had the most incredible sunset Friday night. God definitely took out his finest palette for this one! It was waiting for us when we came out of the theater. Of course, Lys and I were snapping photos. This is an iPhone shot, as I didn’t have my good camera with me.
If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: I had Lys home all week, and she’ll be here for a bit longer until she’s off on another puppy adventure. I got to walk with her and one of her pups the other day. It was fun, and good exercise for me. Darty is such a cutie, and so well behaved. AND I got puppy kisses, which definitely made my day!
If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: I would tell you how sorry I am that I am slow to respond to your wonderful comments. I have found my hands to be a bit uncooperative lately, and I shy away from the keyboard. I will try to catch up as soon as I can, so please be patient with me, and know that I will get to them ASAP! ❤
If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: Lys and I baked blueberry muffins for Fellowship Day at church, which is today! Hard to believe it is upon us again so quickly, but last months was pushed ahead a week because of Mother’s Day. We’re doing a brunchy sort of thing today. I hope all goes well. 🙂
If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: I have been considering taking some time off from blogging. I seriously have to get cracking on packing up this house, should we find the right place. I’ve been looking, but not diligently, and hubby said not to frustrate myself in the process, so, I’ll just keep my eyes open and hope I get a signal that it’s time to move on.
As for the week ahead:
If we were sipping tea, basking in the sun and talking I would tell you: so far, plans for summer are going to the zoo, joining the neighborhood lake, a day trip for a church retreat, and a day trip to Pennsylvania. I can’t wait! I know there will be other things (like going down the shore for the day), but we haven’t planned that yet. And I can’t believe next Sunday is Father’s Day! We’re not doing anything special. I’m just trying to make sure the kids are here for Neil. Fingers crossed.
If we were sipping tea, basking in the sun and talking I would tell you: it’s time to be on my way. Church is calling, and it’s Fellowship Day! Yay! Have a blessed week ahead, my friends! ❤
Since you have been keeping my tea hot, I will sit down and sit a spell to chat with you. I will tell you it’s been a busy week for me as I continue to serve at the nursing home one of the residents went home to the Lord after a hard battle with cancer. I will also share since today is Pentecost Sunday what a glorious day it was, our church was packed as we celebrate the baptism of three children then we had a pot luck lunch, then I was on to a celebration of the day with seven others United Methodists churches as we did mission, putting together 100 buckets to go around the world for flood victims. We sang and have a picnic together
, it’s always wonderful to see old friends again. As I finish my tea I will tell you my youngest daughter will graduate from middle school this Wednesday.it seems you also had a busy week until next Sunday my friend keep the tea hot 😀❤️

I’m so sorry to hear of one of the residents passing, but she is in the hands of the Lord. A most glorious place to be!
You had a busy day! We celebrated Pentecost Sunday, also. Our pastor gave an incredible sermon. The picnic must have been so much fun.
Congratulations to your daughter on her graduation. I look forward to hearing all about it next week.
Be well, dear friend, and have a blessed week ahead! ❤

The resident was a gentleman name Don, I was able to spend time with him and his family, I sang a song called in The Garden. The picnic was great we put cleaning buckets together that will be going around the world somewhere for people in need.

I’m sure his family is grateful for the time you spent with them. Cleaning buckets are a great idea! 🙂

If I were sipping tea, which I will be soon, I’d add my wishes for your and your hubby’s complete recovery and well being. Add to that today is a glorious day in the Sacramento region, blue sky that seems endless until it disappears. My trees are fully leafed out and creating both deep and dappled shade from the rays of a sun that at times is much too hot.
Tomorrow and Tuesday are going to be 100+ days followed by some high nineties. I do not like hot, hot weather, but I enjoy watching the wildlife in my garden. I again have some nesting mockingbirds. And we seem to have a family (or at least close relations) of squirrels. My son keeps their feeder full. It is such fun watching them chase each other up and down the trunks of trees.
The son who lives with me is well and I do not know what I’d do without him. He is a master wood worker, turning out artistic as well as functional pieces. And, at 63 he still goes on 20 to 30 mile bike rides in the evenings.
Me, I’m getting on and getting along. I do what I can and have stopped being critical of myself when I can’t do at 87 things I did easily at 27. Meeting this month for lunch with a group of women (veterans, like me). We share a very special history so it’s an association I treasure.
I figure life is good. As long as I still have my mind, I don’t focus on a blasted body that doesn’t do what I’d like it to do. I can still swim (short distances) although I’ve given up diving. I can still walk with the help of a walker. I can still enjoy my garden and the wonderful creatures living in it. Reading is now and has always been one of the major enjoyments in my life. I started at age 5 with the Oz books. Then, too, every now and then I author a new poem. Yes. Life is good.

Thank you for joining me, Barbara! Our weather has been blissful here, on the other side of the country. Temps were in the 80’s over the weekend but will drop into the mid 70’s for the week, with rain. I’m so tired of the rain…sigh.
Your son keeps himself young by cycling the way he does. And the same goes for you. Swimming is good exercise and keeps you moving.
Enjoy your get together with the ladies, laugh and live as much as you can. Those are truly special relationships.
Enjoy your week. I hope you’ll stop by again next Sunday and tell me about your outing! 🙂

Thank you, Robbie. It’s something I’ve had to live with for the past 13 years, but never get used to. I appreciate you taking the time to read my silly thoughts for the week. 🙂

If I was sipping tea Pamela might be saying to me ‘get that lawn cut’. So I did. Amazing how grass grows twice as fast when you are away:) Now I am already searching for next trip, though P is becoming more handicapped
