All that kneading had come to an end
With other ladies, she did contend
Prayed her buns were just right
Weren’t rolled up too tight
Gave a sigh, seems she had the right blend

Sounds like something we call Women’s Institute here where at monthly meetings there are often competitions for baking. I stuck to using a breadmaker, except for a few experiments with plaited bread 🙂

This picture makes me so nostalgic.. I can almost smell my grandmother’s fresh rolls, just pulled out of the huge wood-fired oven. And the poem is so sweet and expressive. Thank you for sharing!
